Accident drama involving brothers: Motorcycle against car

A joint joyride on a motorcycle ended in disaster for a pair of 21-year-old brothers on Tuesday afternoon in the Tyrolean Außerfern. Both were seriously injured in a head-on collision, as was a vacationer from Belgium. 

The devastating accident happened at around 4 p.m. on Tuesday on the Lechtal road near Steeg. The local brothers were traveling there on a motorcycle. The driver wanted to overtake a car and probably did not see the oncoming car of a Belgian vacationing family with four passengers in time.

Brothers were thrown through the air
As the 21-year-old started to overtake, he crashed head-on into the Belgians' car. According to the police, the two brothers were thrown six meters through the air by the force of the impact. They suffered extremely serious injuries. 

The driver of the car (47) is also seriously injured, his daughter (18) slightly. The Lechtalstrasse had to be completely closed for two and a half hours to recover the accident victims.
