Brussels tightens requirements for porn portal Xnxx

The porn website Xnxx will in future have to comply with stricter rules against illegal content on the internet. The EU Commission has classified it as a "very large online platform" under the new Digital Services Act (DSA), as it announced.

Among other things, this obliges the platform to prevent minors from accessing pornographic content, for example through age verification. Xnxx now has until mid-November to fulfill its obligations under the DSA. This includes carrying out its own risk assessments on the handling of illegal content or the negative impact on the well-being of users. The report will then be reviewed by the EU Commission.

Portals under pressure to act
The platforms Pornhub, Stripchat and XVideos were already classified as "very large online platforms" last year. In mid-June, they were asked by the Brussels authority to provide more information on the protection of minors and action against illegal content.

Among other things, the Digital Services Act (DSA) is intended to ensure that platforms remove illegal content on their sites more quickly than before. In turn, it will make it easier for users to report such content. In principle, large services have to follow more rules than small ones.
