According to expat survey: “A beautiful country but grumpy”

According to a survey of expats (foreigners living here who have not been naturalized), it is nice to live in Austria, but there is some catching up to do when it comes to the friendliness of the population. You can read what the "Krone" community has to say about this here:

Beautiful country, but grumpy
Respondents were particularly enthusiastic about the quality of life in Austria. hubertus67 also agrees. "Living in Austria is great and a privilege," he says. Krone reader2223123 has a similar opinion: "Wonderful country. We have it really good compared to other countries. We are grumpy, unfortunately".

As one calls into the forest ... 
 Many readers are also of the opinion that we Austrians are basically quite easy to deal with and that the most important thing is how you are treated by your counterpart. "Austrians are the way you approach them", says Faakersee333 "As you call into the forest, so it echoes back." Reader DaniLB points out the importance of learning the national language in his comment.

Language as the biggest barrier:
"Krone" reader ForrestWarrior9 , along with many other users, wonders why people emigrate to another country in the first place without knowing the local language. "So if I were to emigrate to China, Argentina, New Zealand etc., there would be fewer problems if I had no knowledge of the language?" sogehtsnicht is also of this opinion and attributes the grant to possible language barriers at work.
