“Bullying at school turned me into a boxer”

He has boxing legend Mike Tyson as a role model and even dreams of becoming world champion himself! But Christian Oshodin, who grew up in Styria and now lives in Linz, didn't always have that much self-confidence. "It was such a bad time," says the 28-year-old, thinking back to his school days. 

Systematic exposure, the spreading of rumors, verbal and physical attacks, the exclusion of "chosen ones" from a group. One in five children has experienced bullying at school and the consequences are often fatal, ranging from sleep disorders and depression to suicidal thoughts. It is often difficult for those affected to talk about it openly, and Christian Oshodin also had to struggle with it for a long time.
