Upper Austrians - and not only them - have been reluctant to switch for years, at least when it comes to electricity providers. This could change in the coming weeks, as the extension of the cost cap is in doubt. The "Krone" asked what the situation looks like now and what there is to consider.

"We do not yet have any binding information that we can share with you about how things will continue after June 30" - six days before the electricity price cap expires, the "Krone" received this answer from the Ministry of the Environment's electricity price cap hotline. Translated: It is not yet certain that the announced halving of the electricity price brake will actually take effect from July 1.
