Bruce Dickinson: There’s still a lot to come from me

On Monday evening, Iron Maiden frontman Bruce Dickinson made almost 500 fans in Vienna's Simm City laugh with a stand-up comedian show. In the "Krone" interview, the 64-year-old told us why he has so many bumblebees up his ass, when his solo album will finally be released and why every solo evening is a mental challenge.

After a good third of his spoken word performance, he reveals the reason why Iron Maiden singer Bruce Dickinson has so many hobbies and passions: "In the beginning, we usually only played 20 minutes per concert evening with Iron Maiden. That means there was absolutely nothing to do for 23 hours and 40 minutes - so it was time for me to find some hobbies." Today, not only loyal heavy metal fans know that the working-class hero from the heart of England is a successful brewer, pilot, fencer, screenwriter, podcaster, radio presenter, actor and motivational speaker.

Entertainment for all
In his witty autobiography "What Does This Button Do?" from 2017, he provides profound insights into his life, and at his celebrated appearance at the Stadthalle F in Vienna in October 2019, he recapitulated his life with great verve and humor for the first time in Austria.

During the lockdowns, the 64-year-old was once again able to hone and sharpen his art as an entertainer. This time, however, things got off to a rather bumpy start.
