AUA horror in the hail

“I saw the plane parts flying past”

The passengers' eyes widened in horror as they disembarked and saw how badly the nose of the plane had been demolished in the hailstorm.(Bild: zVg)

"I only realized afterwards that it was parts of the plane's nose that I saw flying past, at first I thought it was water or hailstones" - Manuel H. (30) from Sonnberg im Mühlkreis was sitting at the back right of the window in the Airbus that got caught in a thunderstorm on Sunday afternoon. The photos of the demolished cockpit went around the world after our "Krone" report. 

These pictures went around the world: as reported, passenger Marcel H. pulled out his cell phone camera after landing in Vienna on Sunday. You can see a smashed AUA plane without a nose. Here is the chronology of the horror flight:
