Bridge section came loose and crashed onto the highway

A nine-meter-long bridge section fell onto the busy Inntal freeway on Friday. Miraculously, no one was injured. 

At around 1.30 p.m. on Friday, while working on a bridge over the Inntal freeway in Vomp, an approximately 9-metre-long edge beam of the bridge came loose and fell onto a work scaffold below.

Due to the heavy weight, the scaffolding collapsed and the beam and parts of the scaffolding fell onto the highway.

This only damaged the asphalt and guard rails. Drivers were not injured. Only one lane of the highway could be used for around one and a half hours.
