Financial quake! England clubs need “emergency sales”

According to a media report, several soccer clubs in the English Premier League must sell players from their squads by the end of the month in order to meet the league's financial requirements and avoid sanctions!

According to Sky, Chelsea, Newcastle United, Everton, Aston Villa, Nottingham Forest and promoted Leicester City are affected.

No more than 120 million euros in losses allowed
According to the Premier League's so-called profitability and sustainability rules, clubs are not allowed to make a loss of more than 105 million pounds (approx. 120 million euros) over a period of three years.

If a club - like Leicester - has not been represented in the top flight during this period, the figure is even lower. June 30 marks the end of the financial year in the Premier League. The transfer window opens on June 14.

Clubs have to lose one or two players
It is not known how high the losses were at each club. However, insiders expect that all clubs will have to increase their income in order to avoid risking a fine and will therefore have to sell one or two players each.

Everton were deducted a total of eight points last season for two different infringements, while Nottingham Forest were deducted four points for one infringement.
