Threat of deportation: woman forged driving license

A Kosovan woman presented a forged driver's license during a vehicle check in Fliess (Tyrol) in order to avoid deportation. An arrest warrant had been issued for her. Her companion also had a forged document with him.

On Tuesday at around 4 p.m. during a police vehicle check in the municipality of Fliess, it emerged that a 42-year-old woman from Kosovo was using a forged driving license in a different name in order to avoid possible deportation to Kosovo.

Arrest warrant upheld
She was arrested in the evening of the same day and taken to the Völs prison on the basis of an outstanding arrest warrant. Her 44-year-old companion from Egypt was also provisionally arrested with a forged document and, after consultation with the public prosecutor's office in Innsbruck, charged with forgery at large.

A small amount of herbal cannabis was seized during a search of the luggage.
