Farmer Martin Raab from Pupping was the last local radish farmer from Upper Austria, but after 47 years his radish business came to an end. He had to stop because of a new EU regulation. The farmer tells the "Krone" newspaper what the problem is and how things are going for him now.
"The Jausenradi was our most important product. At the best of times, we produced 60 hectares of it. In addition to the food trade, Schweizerhaus in Vienna, for example, was also an important customer of ours," explains farmer Martin Raab from Pupping, who had to give up radish cultivation this year due to unfair competition.
