Burglars managed to escape into a forest

Burglars struck shortly after midnight on Thursday in a workshop in the Salzburg-Umgebung district. A local resident noticed this and a manhunt followed with several patrols and a police helicopter.

According to the police, the unknown perpetrators had stolen cash and electronic devices such as a laptop and power tools from the workshop. As they left the scene of the crime, a woman observed the beam of the burglars' flashlights. She immediately called the police.

Night-time search for the perpetrators with a police helicopter

A first police patrol was even able to observe the perpetrators as they fled into an adjacent wooded area. However, the subsequent search involving a police helicopter was unsuccessful. The perpetrators were able to escape and the investigation is ongoing.
