This shot backfired: a 14-year-old from Leonding in Upper Austria was handling a BB gun in his room and shot himself through the hand. The boy had several weapons in his possession: brass knuckles, a butterfly knife, two stun guns and a gas pistol.

The 14-year-old was handling a BB gun in his room on Tuesday evening. According to the police, the boy from Leonding shot himself through the hand. His mother called the ambulance and her son was taken to the Kepler University Hospital in Linz after first aid.

Arsenal of weapons in the room
The gunshot wound naturally also called the police. And during a voluntary inspection of the 14-year-old's room, they found a veritable arsenal of weapons: brass knuckles, a butterfly knife, two stun guns, a gas pistol and a BB gun - all weapons were confiscated.

Several charges
Because the knuckleduster is a prohibited weapon, the 14-year-old was charged in court. And because the other weapons are only permitted from the age of 18, charges were also filed with the district authority. In addition, a temporary weapons ban was imposed on the teenager.
