Til Schweiger now needs heart surgery

After his blood poisoning, Til Schweiger (60) had just recovered, but now the next bombshell has hit. The actor has to undergo heart surgery. 

The actor, known from cult films such as "Manta, Manta" and "Keinohrhasen", actually seemed to be out of the woods again. But as was announced on Saturday evening, he now has to undergo medical treatment again. 

Stent implantation planned
As reported by "Bild", citing people close to Schweiger, the 60-year-old will have to have a stent implanted. Schweiger recently flew to Berlin to see a renowned cardiologist. 

The reason for this could be Schweiger's longstanding nicotine addiction, according to reports. Smoking often leads to vasoconstriction, which can make such interventions necessary. 

Weeks of treatment on Mallorca
There is no confirmation from Schweiger himself. The actor and film producer has recently had to battle with repeated health setbacks. For example, he had to be treated for weeks in a clinic on Mallorca for life-threatening blood poisoning.
