Schalke send Osnabrück to the third division

VfL Osnabrück are the first team to be relegated from the 2nd German Bundesliga. 

After the city of Osnabrück closed the stadium at Bremer Brücke for safety reasons and no spectators were allowed in the alternative stadium at Hamburg's Millerntor, VfL found it very difficult to cope with the ghost match atmosphere.

The result against FC Schalke 04 was 0:4 (0:2). This sealed the eighth second division relegation of the purple-and-whites led by ex-LASK player Thomas Goiginger.
