A giant hot dog is currently standing in the middle of New York's Times Square. The art installation immediately became a selfie magnet for tourists and locals alike. 

The approximately 20-metre-long artwork by US duo Jen Catron and Paul Outlaw will be on display in the famous square until 13 June, according to the organizers.

"Spectacle, celebration and criticism"
The work "Hot Dog in the City", which stands on a kind of trolley and can therefore be lifted into the air at an angle, is simultaneously "spectacle, celebration and criticism", it said.

Shortly after its installation, the sculpture became a magnet for selfies from dozens of people on the square in Manhattan, where different works of art are also displayed time and again.
