Ligue 1 relegation battle:
ÖFB professional Cham scores twice in Clermont victory
Clermont Foot have bounced back with a win in the French Ligue 1 relegation battle. The bottom side secured a 4-1 home win over Stade de Reims in the 31st round on Sunday, with Austrian international Muhammed Cham scoring a penalty double for the hosts.
The 23-year-old first converted a handball penalty to make it 1:0 (31') and then scored from the spot in the second half to make it 2:1 (56'). Clermont reduced the gap to a non-relegation place to four points.
In the battle for the Champions League places, OSC Lille won 2-1 at Metz, while Nice won 3-1 at Strasbourg. Lille (55 points) thus jumped to third place, while Nice (51) are fifth. AS Monaco (58) with coach Adi Hütter play at Olympique Lyon this evening (19:00). Paris Saint-Germain will be champions if the Monegasques drop a point.
