A school where digitalization is a way of life

The "Mittelschule und Sportmittelschule Satteins" celebrated its opening on Saturday with an open day. The educational facility is unique in Vorarlberg and is intended to be a beacon project for the whole of Austria.

The proponents really went all out when renovating the school. The educational facility was not only rebuilt from the ground up, but also equipped with state-of-the-art digital technology. In addition to a gigabit-capable fiber optic connection and high-performance WLAN and VLAN, the infrastructure also includes state-of-the-art IT systems for the classrooms, which should enable pupils to learn in an innovative and future-oriented way. Furthermore, the learning spaces have been generously extended as a result of the renovation, which should also have a positive impact on teaching. To summarize: Satteins is now home to one of the most modern schools in Austria.

The business community was also on board
The flagship project "Digital Model School Satteins" was only possible because several partners pulled together. In addition to the state of Vorarlberg, the municipality, WISTO, Vorarlberger Bildungsservice and the school administrators, the technology companies A1 and WolfVision were also on board from the very beginning.

Digital schools are far more than just places of learning, they are spaces of opportunity for our children and young people.

The fact that the company bosses from A1 and WolfVision were there in person on Saturday proves that this is not a run-of-the-mill project. They were impressed by what they saw: "With tailor-made and secure solutions for the digitalization of schools, we are optimally preparing children and young people for life in a digitally networked world. I am therefore particularly pleased that we have been able to jointly implement a digital education project that is a role model throughout Austria and enables interactive, multimedia-based and efficient learning," enthused A1 CEO Marcus Grausam, for example.

Better opportunities through modern schools
The school in Satteins is set to find many more imitators in the coming years - especially in the Ländle region. After all, the state government has set itself the goal of making Vorarlberg the most promising place for children and young people to live.

And this naturally includes modern educational facilities, as Governor Markus Wallner emphasized: "Digital schools are far more than just places of learning, they are spaces of opportunity for our children and young people. By creating optimal conditions for the development of our children, we open up good prospects for their future and help them to be successful in an increasingly digitalized world."
