At 58! Brazil legend makes his professional comeback

Unbelievable, but true: at the age of 58, Brazil legend Romario will play professional soccer once again. 

Romario actually ended his career back in 2009 at the biblical footballing age of 44, but the 1994 world champion wants to give it another go. The reason: Romario really wants to play with his son at his favorite club America FC, where he is also president.

"I will fulfill a great wish"
Although his son Romarinho is already 30 years old, he only recently moved to second division club America. Romario, who will donate his salary and player bonuses, explains his unusual comeback as follows: "I'm going to play a few games for the club close to my heart and fulfill a big wish: to play alongside my son."
