Linz shortens to 1:2 in the women’s AVL final
Defending champions Linz-Steg inflicted their first home defeat of the season on TI-Volley in match 3 of the final series of the Austrian Volley League (AVL) for women!
After losing the first two matches of the "Best Of Five" series 0:3, the Upper Austrians won 3:1 (23,17,-13,19) and prevented the Cup and Supercup winners from Innsbruck from winning their first championship title, at least for the time being. Game 4 will take place on Monday (20:20) in Linz.
"We played with all our heart!"
The Tyrolean team seemed to have turned the game around by clearly winning the third set. However, the Linzers were soon ahead in the fourth and ensured that they could now force a deciding fifth match at home.
"We played with all our hearts, we were the leaders today. The emotion was very important," said Andrea Duvnjak from Linz-Steg. TI Volley chairman Michael Falkner analyzed that his team were unable to play the way they wanted to: "They put us under pressure."
