Run-off election in Innsbruck
Innsbruck: This is how sporty candidates cast their votes
The election in Innsbruck is over: the Greens defend first place in the municipal council with surprising clarity. The FPÖ loses and slips to third place. The surprise of the day is Johannes Anzengruber. The black rebel shocks a disastrously performing ÖVP and lands in second place. There is a run-off in the race for the mayor's seat.

Mayor election result (1st round):
- In 14 days there will be a run-off election for the mayor's seat between Georg Willi (Greens) and Johannes Anzengruber.
Tirol's "Krone" editor-in-chief Claus Meinert writes of a "Waterloo" for the ÖVP.
- There was a small plus for the SPÖ. Federal party leader Andreas Babler sees this as an "impressive new start".

SPÖ overtakes Tursky-ÖVP
The Greens won the municipal council election with 18.86%. Here too, Anzengruber came second with 16.86%, ahead of the Freedom Party with 15.21%. The SPÖ came fourth with 13.54% and the Tursky list came fifth with 10.17%.
Georg Willi came first in the direct election with 22.89 percent. Former ÖVP deputy mayor Johannes Anzengruber (JA-Jetzt Innsbruck) also made it to the run-off with 19.41%.
