Gmunden second in the play-offs after victory

Defending champions Gmunden secured second place at the end of the placement round of the Basketball Super League with an 83:81 win at leaders Klosterneuburg. 

Traiskirchen (93:65 against Graz) will go into the play-offs in third place. Wels (76:87 against St. Pölten) finished in fourth place ahead of Graz and the relegated St. Pölten team. The quarter-final pairings are therefore Klosterneuburg - Kapfenberg, Gmunden - Oberwart, Traiskirchen - St. Pölten and Wels - Graz.

Oberwart escaped a play-off duel with Klosterneuburg, who top the table, because the Burgenland team won 84:76 at home against the Kapfenberg Bulls in a direct duel between the best teams in the qualifying round. The first play-off round will be played in a best-of-five format from April 20.
