After years of skyrocketing costs, property prices have fallen again in large parts of the country in 2023 and there are even bargains to be had here and there. The "Krone" explains why the market is recovering and has identified the areas with the biggest price reductions.

Falling prices in many regions of Austria and a huge drop in volumes characterized the domestic housing market last year. According to the Immo-Spiegel report published by the Remax real estate agency group, which scours land registers and analyzes other meaningful data, the number of condominium registrations fell by 27.4 percent to 36,653 in 2023.
