Carinthian fire department focuses fully on digital learning
The Carinthian State Fire Brigade Association is breaking new ground and creating a completely new training system for the state's volunteer firefighters. School director Klaus Tschabuschnig and his team are fully committed to digitalization.
The increasing number of firefighting operations requires a rethink in the training of firefighters. In addition to real operational scenarios, the Carinthian State Fire Service Association is focusing on a new information and training program. "Firefighting is and always will be a trade with common sense and technical skill. Nevertheless, we know from experience that short inputs are also very well suited to continuously expanding the level of knowledge," says Klaus Tschabuschnig, head of the Carinthia State Fire Service Association. For this reason, there will also be a separate program for volunteers once a month. "We will not only provide information on the various topics, but also analyze a wide variety of major operations," says Tschabuschnig.
The basic training of firefighters is also being modernized. In future, prospective firefighters will be able to acquire the knowledge they need for operations using digital teaching materials.
