Two bridges closed due to heavy transport

A new transformer is to be transported from the Lienz substation to Matrei in East Tyrol, which requires extensive construction work. 

Because a new transformer is to be transported from the Lienz substation to Matrei in East Tyrol by TIWAG heavy transport, various construction measures have to be carried out on the road network. The Hofgarten bridge in Lienz and the Isel bridge in the district of Huben in Matrei will be reinforced just for this purpose.

"It is necessary to equip the two bridges with so-called GRP slats. This ensures safe transportation without any impact on the road infrastructure. However, the slats will remain as permanent reinforcement," says Johannes Nemmert, Head of the Lienz Construction District Office. Both bridges will have to be closed to traffic during the construction work. Local detour will be set up.
