Some in the government are looking for a new job. There are vacancies at the Financial Market Authority and the National Bank.

In two weeks' time, he could secure the title of "Brave Bad Luck of the Year": Florian Tursky has given up the cushy job of State Secretary for Digitalization to run for mayor of Innsbruck. His chances of becoming head of the provincial capital are intact, but not exactly high. He is up against the populist Green politician and mayor Georg Willi, a traditionally strong FPÖ and an ÖVP splinter party. They have a tradition in Innsbruck, and the proximity to Italy is less noticeable in the cuisine of the Tyrolean capital than in its party fragmentation.

On the other hand, who knows what would have happened to Tursky after the national elections? One thing is certain, there will probably be fewer ÖVP members in the government. So it's no wonder that many a minister is looking for a new job. This also applies to the most popular member of the ÖVP government.
