Premiere in Griffen
Luxurious living: A prefabricated house in Porsche design
The Carinthian timber construction specialist Griffner and the world-famous Studio F. A. Porsche have entered into a special kind of cooperation. For the first time in its history, the premium design agency has designed a house, and this luxury version has now been turned into reality in Griffen.
In addition to its sustainable construction, the so-called Floating House impresses with striking stylistic elements such as floor-to-ceiling windows, continuous façade bands and black glass tiles that envelop the first floor and give the house a floating form. The interior features intricate craftsmanship paired with precise precision work. "The room height of up to 5.85 meters is impressive. The Floating House also boasts a number of technical innovations," says Georg C. Niedersüß, owner of Griffner.
From 6500 euros per square meter
The luxury prefabricated house can be ordered immediately and worldwide, from a size of 180 square meters. It takes around three weeks to manufacture the individual parts, the shell can be completed in two weeks and everything should be ready to move into after five to seven months. "Around 25 specialist companies are involved in the construction. The turnkey Floating House will cost from 6,500 euros per square meter, depending on the size, fittings and construction site," explains Niedersüß.
"For us, design is never just aesthetics, but above all content. This attitude and the legacy of German engineering by our founder Professor Ferdinand Alexander Porsche form the basis for our work as designers," says Tobias Hüttl, Design Director of the Porsche Lifestyle Group, with conviction.
