26-year-old threatened with a knife in broad daylight

On Monday afternoon, police officers were called to a subway station in Vienna-Mariahilf after two men suddenly attacked each other. One of them pulled out a knife.

Initially, it was reportedly just a verbal argument between the 47-year-old and the 26-year-old. But then the 47-year-old took a knife out of his trouser pocket and threatened his opponent with it.

Knife seized
The police were able to stop the suspect and seize the knife. A small quantity of narcotics was also found on the 47-year-old.

Attempted aggravated robbery
The suspect was provisionally arrested on suspicion of attempted aggravated robbery. He was also charged under the Narcotics Act. After questioning, he was released.
