Cortina World Championship bronze medalist ends her skiing career!

Andrea Filser is hanging up her skis. The German technical specialist is ending her World Cup career almost 16 years after her debut.

As the German Ski Association (DSV) confirmed on Monday, the 31-year-old bid farewell to the ski circus during the German Championships. 

Bronze in Cortina
Filser made her World Cup debut in November 2012, a lower leg fracture in 2013 set her back a long way and three years later she suffered a cruciate ligament rupture. The German slowly fought her way back via races in the European Cup, and in 2021 she was rewarded with a bronze medal in the team competition at the World Ski Championships in Cortina d'Ampezzo.

Filser was also crowned German champion in the slalom in 2018 and the giant slalom in 2021.
