In Bad Gastein, the ÖVP plays with new hopes
Shortly before the run-off election in Bad Gastein, Norbert Ellmauer (ÖVP) raises hopes with an online video. Something big could soon be happening again in the historic center of the aging Alpine diva. However, there are serious doubts about the announcement shortly before the election showdown.
The Kongresshaus in the historic center of Bad Gastein has been empty since 2007. The listed concrete building by architect Gerhard Garstenauer has long since become an eyesore. As has the huge Haus Austria next to it. Apparently, however, talks are now underway with owners and investors. Even Governor Wilfried Haslauer is involved. But hardly anyone in Bad Gastein believes in this miracle. This was announced for the first time just a few days before the run-off election for the mayor's office in the municipality.
