179 Styrian companies have already been knocked out this year.

The bankruptcy vulture continues to circle over Styria: according to KSV projections, insolvencies rose by around eleven percent in the first quarter. The sectors most affected are construction, retail and gastronomy. The credit protectors expect up to 700 company bankruptcies by the end of the year.

In view of the generally bleak economic situation, the figures from the latest insolvency statistics from Kreditschutzverband 1870 (KSV) are hardly surprising: according to projections, 179 Styrian companies went bankrupt in the first quarter of 2024 - around two insolvencies per day. Compared to the previous year, this is an increase of eleven percent. 603 employees, a third more, are affected.
