What the SPÖ is planning with NATO, Trump and the militia

With the help of more than 70 experts, the SPÖ has drawn up a new and as yet secret policy document for freedom, protection and security. The "Krone" spoke to the red defense spokesman Robert Laimer about the positions on NATO, European nuclear weapons, but also about new measures for the militia - including explosive material for the latest grand coalition rapprochement.

While senior current and former politicians from ÖVP and SPÖ circles regularly meet secretly in Viennese palaces to prepare a three-party coalition for the post-election period, the two parties are currently working on strategy papers. Just last week, for example, the SPÖ adopted a new policy paper for freedom, protection and security in the federal party executive.

It contains clear positions on Russia, possible European nuclear bombs and controversial proposals for the domestic militia, which ÖVP Chancellor Karl Nehammer will not be very happy with.
