Juicy bonus: F1 pays Ferrari extra pocket money
Around 63 percent of the billions that Formula 1 generates in revenue each year goes into the teams' accounts - with one racing team standing out from the competition. Ferrari receives between 70 and 95 million euros a year on top ...
The background to this is an agreement that former Formula 1 boss Bernie Ecclestone negotiated with the Scuderia. The team will receive a nice sum more, "Ferrari guarantees me that their brand will compete exclusively with us for the entire duration of the contract," said the 93-year-old a few years ago.
New agreement in 2026
According to "Auto Motor Sport", Ferrari will receive the most money with 208 million dollars in payouts - followed by Red Bull Racing (184 million) and Mercedes (179 million). Ferrari can continue to build on its special position until 2026, before a new agreement is to replace the clause.
From a sporting perspective, the Italian racing team has so far proved to be the "best of the rest" behind the Bulls this season. Both regular drivers, Carlos Sainz and Charles Leclerc, have finished on the podium in the two one-two victories (Verstappen ahead of Perez in each case).
