Graz's Theater am Ortweinplatz presents "Lights Out", a play (for children aged 8 and over) about the eerie darkness and why you don't have to be afraid of it.

It's been a long day and Marlen is proud: she's done everything she set out to do. Now she only has one thing left to do: off to bed and "lights out". But suddenly her shadow starts talking to her. As it turns out, his name is Leo and he is afraid of the dark. That's why he wants to prevent her from flipping the light switch. Thus begins the adventure of Marlen (Marlen Weingartmann) and her shadow Leo (Leo Plankensteiner).

Darkness is scary - and funny
Director Simon Windisch brings this play, which he developed together with the two actors, to the stage at TaO! in Graz in a very intimate setting. The audience sits with Marlen and Leo in a tent made of black curtains (stage: Rosa Wallbrecher) and explores with them both the scary and the funny sides of darkness. Little by little, Marlen and Leo become braver and lose their fear of the dark.

Smart and humorous, the play tells of the inevitability of fears - but also of how they can be overcome. For children aged 8 and over - to be seen until March 22.
