Pinkelnig narrowly misses out on Trondheim victory
Ski jumper Eva Pinkelnig narrowly missed out on victory in the World Cup normal hill competition at the next World Cup venue in Trondheim, 0.6 points behind Norway's Eirin Maria Kvandal.
Third-placed Nika Kriznar from Slovenia was also only 0.8 points behind the Norwegian on Tuesday evening. Jacqueline Seifriedsberger was the second-best Austrian in sixth place. The next competition will also take place on Wednesday in Trondheim on the large hill.
Chance of the overall World Cup
Pinkelnig managed her eleventh podium finish of the winter thanks to an improvement of two positions in the final. "I managed a good competition. But a few things in the background didn't go so smoothly. I let myself get a little out of balance, but I was able to attack again in the second run," said Pinkelnig.
In the overall World Cup, the defending champion made up some ground on the leader Nika Prevc, who finished in fifth place. With four competitions to go, Pinkelnig is 154 points behind the Slovenian. In the Raw Air, she is also 32 points behind Kvandal in second place, and there are still four competitions left in the Norwegian series.
