This is how “dirty” the next U-committee will be
After the committee of inquiry is before the committee of inquiry. The next one on the topic of "red-blue abuse of power" starts on Wednesday. A former federal chancellor and a former interior minister are particularly in the spotlight. The "Krone" knows the first explosive details.
The committee, which starts on Wednesday and was set up solely by the ÖVP, begins with a sense of déjà vu. As with the Cofag committee, Wolfgang Peschorn, the head of the Financial Procurator's Office, has been invited as the first person to provide information. "If you ask the right questions, you are not far away from the right answer," he said in the opening statement of the first committee on Wednesday. A subtle reference to the bombshell that became known just one day later?
Around 24 hours later, it became known what Peschorn may have already known during the questioning, but in any case was not asked - the insolvency petition of the real estate juggler René Benko as an entrepreneur. On Wednesday, Peschorn will be questioned again, but this time on completely different topics. This time, however, the focus will be less on the "Tyrolean" and his connections to "finance" and more on a former federal chancellor and a former interior minister.
