After Super Tuesday, political scientist and US expert Heinz Gärtner analyzes the current situation in the United States of America on krone.tv: "Both Trump and Biden have no charismatic rivals within the party. But among the Democrats, Biden's candidacy looks clearer than it is".

There are indeed signs within the party that young voters are running away from Biden. Gärtner: "Trump, on the other hand, acts unpredictably. And there is Trump's rhetoric." This was also the case, for example, when Trump suggested that the USA would no longer support NATO countries that contribute less than two percent of their gross domestic product to the NATO budget. The political scientist adds: "Yes, it does appeal to Republican voters. But many others have said that before Trump." However, the Europeans should not act so holy now. Gärtner: "Europe's fears about a new Trump presidency are exaggerated. Europe has always gone along with Trump's foreign policy decisions."
