Downhill world champion announces the end of her season
Downhill world champion Jasmine Flury has ended her season prematurely. The Swiss ski racer suffered a blow to her right knee during the race in Crans-Montana and has now announced on Instagram that it is due to cartilage damage. The 30-year-old did not make the trip to the speed competitions in Kvitfjell due to medical clarifications, but the current fifth-placed racer in the downhill rankings will now also miss the World Cup final in Saalbach-Hinterglemm.
"Unfortunately, my season is already over. I have cartilage damage in my knee," the 2023 downhill world champion wrote on Instagram. She is currently undergoing examinations to find "the best possible solution".
The 30-year-old did not make the trip to the speed competitions in Kvitfjell due to medical clarifications, but will now also miss the World Cup final in Saalbach-Hinterglemm, where she is currently fifth in the downhill rankings.
