Tree stops car
“Flown” out of a bend: Car plunged down an embankment
Dramatic and painful moments for a couple of pensioners in Frauenstein (Carinthia): The car driver lost control on a bend and landed with the car 20 meters into the forest. The 76-year-old and her husband in the passenger seat (81) were taken to hospital.
For unknown reasons, the 76-year-old left the road in a sharp right-hand bend on the municipal road in the Schaumboden area and continued straight ahead. The car subsequently crashed over a steep embankment, skidded around 20 meters across the forest floor and finally got stuck on a tree. The emergency services were called out immediately.
Occupants not trapped
The driver and her 81-year-old husband in the front passenger seat were injured to an undetermined extent - but fortunately were not trapped and were transported to Klagenfurt Hospital after first aid. The fire departments present from St. Veit an der Glan, Kraig, Schaumboden and Treffelsdorf took over the recovery of the wrecked car.
