Another mishap in Japan:
Planes touched each other with their wings
Following a series of incidents in Japanese air traffic, two planes have collided with their wings at Osaka-Itami domestic airport. The wingtips "scratched" each other while maneuvering on Thursday, said a spokesman for the airport operator Kansai Airports.
The incident, involving the two All Nippon Airways planes, occurred shortly after 10 a.m. at the domestic terminal of Itami Airport in Osaka.
"We were told that the wingtips of two ANA aircraft grazed each other," the spokesman said.
No casualties
According to local media, neither passengers nor crew members were injured. The accident is the latest in a series of mishaps involving Japanese planes and airports since the beginning of the year.
Serious accident on January 2
The most serious accident occurred on January 2 at Tokyo-Haneda Airport when a Japan Airlines plane collided with a smaller Coast Guard plane.
All 379 people on board the JAL Airbus were able to escape before the plane burst into flames. Five of the six people on board the smaller plane died.
