Yemen: USA flew airstrikes against Houthi militia

On Sunday night, the USA once again carried out airstrikes against the Houthi militia in Yemen. US President Donald Trump had previously ordered massive attacks against the Iran-backed Houthi. Local media are already reporting several casualties.

The US is currently carrying out airstrikes on the terrorists' bases, leaders and missile defense positions in order to protect American shipping and restore freedom of navigation, Trump wrote on his Truth Social platform.

USA classifies Houthi as a terrorist organization
The Houthis had waged a relentless campaign of violence and terrorism against ships and aircraft of the USA and other countries. The USA reclassified the Houthi militia as a foreign terrorist organization at the beginning of March.

Addressing Iran, Trump wrote that support for the Houthi terrorists must be ended immediately. Tehran should not threaten the American people, its president or global shipping routes. "Be warned, because America will hold you accountable, and we will not be nice to you!"

US-British attacks on targets in Yemen
The Houthis announced that areas north of the Yemeni capital Sanaa had been hit in American-British attacks. A pro-Iranian broadcaster in Lebanon reported nine deaths, citing the Yemeni Ministry of Health.
