How child-friendly is Good Friday in church?

Before the little ones can look for colorful nests on Sunday, the Easter weekend begins today, Good Friday, with the story of suffering and the agonizing death of Jesus Christ. Michaela Druckenthaner from the Team Kinder/Katholische Jungschar of the Diocese of Linz knows how to give children an understanding of the gruesome story of suffering in the Gospels.

"OÖ-Krone" : Apart from colorful eggs and chocolate, do most children still know the deeper meaning of the feast?
Michaela Druckenthaner: That depends on the parents' approach to religion. The more the parents dare to explain the background, the easier it is for the children to get involved.
