Trump appoints terminally ill boy as secret agent

During his State of the Union address, US President Donald Trump provided an emotional moment. He appointed the terminally ill boy Devarjaye "DJ" Daniel, who had always wanted to become a police officer, as a secret agent.

US President Donald Trump has made a 13-year-old boy, who was diagnosed with a brain tumor in 2018, a secret agent. 

The doctors had only given him months at the time, but years later "he's still alive".

"Greatest honor"
 His greatest wish has always been to become a police officer. He had already been sworn in as an honorary police officer a few times. Now he will receive the greatest honor and be made a Secret Service agent, Trump explained.

The new head of the Secret Service, Sean Curran, presented the boy with his agent's badge during Trump's speech in Congress.

The boy, dressed in police uniform, beamed from the stands and held his ID card proudly aloft as he was shouldered by his dad Theodis Daniel and applauded and cheered by all the guests in the hall.
