It was no harmless prank that happened at a bus stop in Josefstraße (Lower Austria) on Friday. A teenager (13) was injured by a firecracker and had to go to hospital. The perpetrators are on the run and the police are now looking for witnesses. 

Shock in the provincial capital! A dangerous incident occurred last Friday afternoon at a bus stop in St. Pölten. At 1.12 pm, unknown perpetrators set off a firecracker in front of the grammar school in Josefstraße. A 13-year-old pupil was injured in the leg. Passers-by rushed to the scene and immediately provided first aid.

Information from witnesses requested
The shocked young pupil was then taken by ambulance to St. Pölten University Hospital, where doctors treated the injury to his thigh professionally.

"This is not a prank"
The perpetrators were able to flee and have not yet been traced. "This is not a prank. We want these hooligans to be taken off the streets quickly and punished," says the city.

In any case, the police are feverishly searching for eyewitnesses who can provide concrete information about this frightening incident.
