Little Elias was born in an ambulance

It wasn't planned that way: Paula (29) and her partner Lukas (30) actually wanted to drive to the hospital on their own when she went into labor. But little Elias was in a hurry. With the help of the Red Cross, who were called in, the little man finally made his way into the world on the way to the hospital.

The contractions of mom Paula (29) quickly became stronger and the intervals became shorter and shorter. An independent trip to the hospital, which the couple had actually planned, became impossible.

The parents-to-be called the Red Cross via emergency services. While the family waited, the contractions became stronger and stronger. At the same time as the first contraction, the ambulance arrived with the team of Red Cross helpers. 

Just in time
As soon as the emergency paramedics had lifted the expectant mother into the ambulance with the stretcher, everything happened very quickly: "Two minutes later, the baby was already there," recalls emergency paramedic Christoph.

Mother and child were immediately examined on site. They were then taken by ambulance to the regional hospital for further treatment. The family is well and happy about their speedy Elias.
