Lisa Hauser and Simon Eder have finished fifth in the single-mixed relay at the Biathlon World Cup in Oberhof. The ÖSV duo finished 52.1 seconds behind surprise winners Finland on Sunday after eight misses in the non-Olympic discipline. 

The Finnish duo Suvi Minkkinen/Tero Seppälä won just ahead of France and the local heroes from Germany. The ÖSV quartet finished tenth in the mixed four-man relay.

Hauser/Eder were around 27 seconds off the podium in the race, which was not a top field. "Of course we're both very pleased with fifth place. But it's still a bit of a shame, because a lot more would have been possible today. We didn't get it quite perfect at the shooting range, otherwise we could have finished on the podium on our own," said Hauser.

The red-white-red team was in the fight for the podium places for a long time, but missed too often. "Once again, it was important for us that we had it in our own hands. Because if we shoot three or four reloads less, we'll be far ahead today. When you know that you can make it onto the podium on your own, it naturally provides additional motivation," emphasized Eder.

Sweden wins mixed relay
In the mixed relay, Felix Leitner, David Komatz, Anna Andexer and Anna Gandler managed a top ten finish with two penalty rounds and nine reloads. Despite two penalties, Sweden took the win ahead of France (1/+12.8 sec.) and Norway (1/+1:11.4 min.), with Austria 3:38.4 minutes behind. Two penalty loops by Andexer in prone shooting threw the ÖSV quartet back in the fight for a better place.
