Flixbus overturned in Germany: Two dead

According to initial findings, two people have been killed in a serious bus accident on a highway in the German state of Brandenburg. The number of injured is still unclear. There were 14 people on the Flixbus bus.

According to German media reports, the vehicle involved in the accident was a Flixbus bus. The accident occurred on an exit to a parking lot shortly after the Uckermark interchange, according to a spokesperson for the police situation service in Potsdam.

Coach overturned onto its side
The coach came to rest on its side. Initial findings indicate that no other vehicle was involved. "Including the driver, there were 14 people on the bus," a spokesperson told the Märkische Allgemeine Zeitung newspaper. Whether icy roads played a role could not be confirmed at first.

Large rescue team after bus accident
Several ambulances were called to the scene of the accident. A tent was also requested to care for the injured and several rescue buses made their way to a nearby parking lot. A traffic jam formed early on Saturday evening and drivers were asked to show consideration and form a rescue lane. The ADAC also warned of slippery roads at the Uckermark junction in the direction of Szczecin.
