Ralph Hasenhüttl has won the duel between the Styrian Bundesliga coaches. The 57-year-old led his Wolfsburg side to a 1-0 away win against Christian Ilzer's TSG Hoffenheim on Saturday. Meanwhile, Michael Gregoritsch celebrated a 3-2 win with Freiburg against Holstein Kiel, St. Pauli lost 1-0 to Frankfurt, Heidenheim defeated Union Berlin 2-0 and Mainz celebrated a 2-0 win against Bochum. 

The decisive goal for Wolfsburg was scored by Mohammed Amoura with his head from a corner (29') after he had got the better of Alexander Prass. The ex-Sturm Graz professional played through and missed a top chance to equalize in the 79th minute. His ÖFB teammate Patrick Wimmer came on at the other end in the 63rd minute.

Poor Ilzer record
Ilzer managed a 4-3 win over Leipzig when he took charge last November, followed by five defeats and three draws. Hoffenheim conceded a 3-0 defeat to Wolfsburg in the DFB Cup at the beginning of December, for whom Saturday's win was their first three-pointer after two recent defeats.

In Freiburg's 3-2 home win over Kiel, the winners had to make do without Philipp Lienhart, who was ill, with Michael Gregoritsch coming on as a substitute in the 69th minute. Phillipp Mwene set up the hosts' second goal in Mainz's 2-0 win over Bochum in front of their own fans. Heidenheim defeated Union Berlin (Christopher Trimmel played through) thanks in part to a goal from ex-Austrian Franz Krätzig (17th minute).

Third-placed Eintracht Frankfurt beat FC St. Pauli (David Nemeth until 86) 1-0 in Hamburg. The golden goal was scored by Omar Marmoush (32), who is said to be on the verge of a move to Manchester City.
