Woman was abused by boyfriend for hours

Another serious case of domestic violence has occurred in Vienna. A 34-year-old woman was beaten and abused by her partner in her apartment for hours. The woman's ordeal only stopped when attentive neighbors alerted the police.

The alerted officers drove to the scene in Siebenbrunnengasse at around 10.45 pm. Initially it was about a loud argument. For hours, neighbors heard the couple's violent argument from the apartment.

Suspect was covered in blood
The police officers were still knocking on the door when the 54-year-old man opened the door covered in blood and asked the officers into the apartment. He explained that his wife was in the bedroom and everything was fine.

Seriously injured in the bedroom
The victim suffered visible injuries to his head and body. The blood of the slightly intoxicated man did not come from his own injuries, but from his wife, as the police specified.

She stated that she had been beaten by her partner for several hours. The woman received emergency medical treatment on the spot and was taken to hospital by the Vienna Professional Rescue Service.

54-year-old man reported
The 54-year-old was provisionally arrested on suspicion of intentional grievous bodily harm and charged. According to the police, the couple had not previously been known to the police.
