Two hours of traffic jam on the Tauern highway

The avalanche of holidaymakers rolled through Salzburg again on Saturday. As expected, there were traffic jams on the Tauernautobahn in front of the construction site of the tunnel chain near Golling. Travelers had to wait up to two hours to get southbound. 

In the communities bordering the highway, there was again alternative traffic: the line of cars stretched all the way back to Puch. There were also long delays on the German A8 highway at the Walserberg border crossing.

This will not be the last traffic jam during the Christmas vacations. In a week's time, there will be a vacation shift change before New Year's Eve.
